KIPP Northeast College Preparatory opened its doors in June 2013. At KIPP Northeast we teach, learn, and live by our five values — Gratitude, Responsibility, Excellence, Ambition, and Tenacity. These values provide the framework for our school’s culture and are integrally tied to our students’ successes. KIPP Northeast is a place where the staff is encouraged to be innovative and passionate in order to provide a college-preparatory experience that empowers students with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets to go to and through college.
KIPP Northeast serves 546 college-bound 9th - 12th graders from Houston’s North and East communities.
Our student body is 68% African-American and 32% Hispanic.
KIPP Northeast’s small and diverse staff provides a rigorous college-preparatory education with an emphasis on writing, blended learning, and critical thinking. Every KNCP student has a laptop and Kindle.
KIPP Northeast helps students develop their non-academic talents by providing other extra-curricular activities including student government and athletics. We also partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters to ensure every scholar has a mentor.
TEACHING AT KIPP NORTHEAST
At KIPP Northeast, college readiness is at the center of everything we do. As a school, we work to ensure that each student receives individualized instruction to help address their different academic needs. KNCP is a technology rich environment, so we look for teachers who are excited about possibilities to integrate technology into their students’ learning, and are eager about finding ways to differentiate material for our scholars.
