KIPP Dream Prep opened its doors to the North Houston community in fall 2006. Located just a few blocks from Garcia Elementary where KIPP’s mission began, Dream is the second elementary school in the national KIPP network. At Dream, we believe that all our students can live by our IGNITE values for success in school and beyond — Integrity, Give, Never Give Up, Imagine, Trust and Explore. Dream is a school where an energetic staff provides a college-preparatory experience that empowers students with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets to go to and through college.
KIPP Dream serves 864 college-bound students from grades PreK3 through 4th. Students at Dream come from Houston’s North and East communities.
Our student body is 77% Hispanic and 22% African-American.
Our staff of 60 diverse educators provide a rigorous college-preparatory education with an emphasis on literacy and the school’s IGNITE core values.
Dreamsters develop their talents by participating in instruction in visual art, IGNITE Dance Team, performance, physical education and wellness, technology, choir, music, math club, art club, soccer and after-school academic intervention.
